Outreach Ministry

The Outreach Ministry provides a variety of parish programs which support those in our community who are homeless, recently unemployed, low income or struggling to get by.

St. Clement’s Outreach Programs

Food Pantry:  Our food pantry is open on Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 9am-12pm, serving those in need in Saratoga County.  We currently serve an average of 200 families a month.

Soup Kitchen: Our Soup Kitchen runs the 1st Sunday of each month.  We serve an average of 75 people at this event.  Soup Kitchen Servers and Food Donations are needed.

Elizabeth Ministry: Our Elizabeth Ministry prepares blessing baskets for expectant mothers in need as well as providing children’s clothing for needy families.  Feel free to donate in-season children’s clothes, baby wipes & newborn size diapers to this ministry.  They may be placed in the donation baskets at the exits of the church.

Homeless Veterans Christmas Program:

The Outreach Ministry continues to support our homeless veterans each Christmas.  The Veterans & Community Housing Coalition in Ballston Spa provides transition housing for our homeless vets.  St. Clement’s  purchases gifts for the veterans and purchases a household item for each house.  Which are given on Christmas morning.   The vets are so thankful. We are hoping to continue supporting our homeless vets throughout the year with their transition to their own home.

Backstretch Workers Box Lunch Program:

Since the summer of 2012, with the help of St. Clement’s Parishioner donations,  the St. Clement’s Outreach Program has been preparing lunches for 75 backstretch workers who visit family members from Belmont each Tuesday during the Saratoga racing season. We have a group of up to 17 volunteers who assist in the pre-planning and preparing the anticipated total of 250 lunches for the upcoming season.

How You Can Help

Your contributions in the outreach boxes at the exits of the church, online & mailed allow us to purchase an average of 6000 lbs. of food each month from the regional food bank, purchase personal care items from Dollar Tree and help families with Emergency Financial Assistance.   These donations also help our other programs thru out the year.  Feel free to stop by our food pantry on Tuesday & Wednesday mornings from 9-12 to see how your support is helping an average of 300 families each month.  We would be happy to give you a tour and talk too you about our ministry.

Thank you for your continued support

Soup Kitchen

Enjoy a lovely afternoon of food and fellowship. Our meals are more “church potluck supper” than soup kitchen. Whether behind the scenes in the kitchen, or out front in the dining room, you will be sharing the love of Christ with other St. Clement’s parishioners and our soup kitchen friends. Teens 14 & older are welcome to volunteer with a parent.  The Meals are served the first Sunday of the month at New England Presbyterian Church, 24 Circular Street, across from Batcheller mansion.  Volunteer by clicking below.  Note that clicking on each “Available job” will call up a detailed description of that job.

Elizabeth Ministry

This parish program supports women during special times of motherhood. It is designed to affirm, support, encourage and celebrate their commitment to the dignity and worth of a child’s life. The Elizabeth Ministry provides “Baby Blessing Baskets” to expectant mothers in need and provides children’s clothing in all sizes.
